About our presenter:
Emanuel Rosen began understanding the role of buzz in the advertising
business. As a copywriter in Israel, he worked with a variety of products, from
Peugeot to Sano to Kodak. During the 1990s, he was VP Marketing
at Niles Software in Berkeley, California. There he was responsible for
launching and marketing the company’s flagship product, EndNote — a
tool for managing bibliographic references. Buzz about EndNote began well before the product was released; today, you would be hard pressed to find a university where
people don’t use it. Since 1998, when he sold his share in the
company, he has dedicated his time to studying and writing about
word of mouth. His resulting book, “The Anatomy of Buzz,” is a seminal
study in understanding how word of mouth spreads. With over 100,000
